For the first day of our Pocono adventure we rented our campsite in this place called KOA. The first time I’ve known Kampgrounds Of America was when we went to Cape May last year. We only spent one night at that time and I felt that we didn’t make the most out of it.
While I was searching for our prospect cabin I could not find anything that was less than $300 per night. Given that it was peak season, almost all of the cheaper ones were fully booked already. I almost loss my sanity looking for a reasonably priced cabin but not sacrificing the place. It was like finding a needle in a haystack. Luckily, KOA has a branch in Pocono Mountain but most of their cabins were booked for the weekend. So I have to decide for the group – to rent a tent campsite for a night followed by a cabin for the succeeding days.
If I’m going to match up the two KOAs that I’ve been to, this in Pocono Mountain is the cleanest. The bathroom and toilet was well maintained compared to the ones in Cape May. I think one of the advantages of Cape May is they have a man-made lake where you can rent a kayak and just enjoy the calmness of the water.
What I love in Delaware water gap was they have scheduled activities for the day just in case you want to spend your day in the campsite. Moreover, if you are itching to feel a little cooler against the blazing sun, there’s a pool that you can jump into.
What also made us to call the shots was the proximity of this to NYC as well as to the nearest attractions that we planned to go. I will go over our complete itinerary on a separate post so please hang on to that.
